Restoration project problems

Hi Porscheans,

During the rebuild of my -65 911 I have run ito a little problem.
Looking in the workshop manual (in the body part, diagram C97a/B97a) the distance between the forward and rear attachmentpoints for the front suspension is indicated to 497.3 mm. On my car the distance is more like 487.3 mm!
I have come across incorrect information in the manual before but my car has been repaired in this area so I don't know which to use.
For the moment I need this distance to complete the repair rig to get everything straight and within tolerances when I start the actual "welding in new panels" part of the restoration.
It would be most appreciated if someone could confirm the correct distance or measure on a car and give me an indication to what the distance should be. The measure should be between the center of the outer/rear bolt (there are 3) on the forward attachment and the center of the bolt that holds the front suspension sub frame to the body.

Holiday Greetings from a warm and snowfree Sweden. Guess Santa have to use his car (Porsche?) this X-mas.

I don't have a car old enough to accurately measure, but I know from reading that the wheelbase was extended sometime after 65, I think 67 or 68, but Im not sure. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.
Nick.
