What is a PC 680? Is it the maintenance-free $60 wonder that can leak, eat the battery tray and release fumes into the trunk? :D Ah, I see; it's an Odyssey Dry-cell? So, how much would this PC 680 be in the Seattle area? And, does it have the "lips" to fit into a 911 tray? |
Go tell your NAPA dealer to order you one / or our host may sell them. Unless you need a a 2 hour reserve with every thing on , it is the best way to go. IMO
|
Sounds good, afterburn:
Can you post a picture of the PC 680 installed in your 911, please? |
does anyone have the correct part# for the optima red top battery that I would need for my 88 carrera. The more I read and search the more confused I get.
|
KC:
The Optima Red weighs quite a bit, is not cheap and you have to make a holding-fixture (Adapter plate) for it. More search? |
I am pic stupid still. I installed it in the most forward end of the car just off center (passenger side) Pc680 people makes a nice hold dwn bracket too.
Lots put them in the smuggler box, my theory is too much weight to the rear. Ran new BIG cables back to starter and one for ground. Will start, no problem even at freezing temps. |

Kato,
The AGM battery in the Vector Jump-start pack is a typical motorcycle/lawn tractor battery with perforated posts ... i.e., not SAE battery terminals. Probably superior to SAE terminals in most respects, actually, if you are willing to alter the lugs on your battery cables! No, I haven't done this install ... just postulating on a source for a low-cost AGM sealed battery of 19 Ah capacity. My preference/suggestion would be a Miata battery for $92 ... the price has risen in the past couple of months! |
