L f/r L side parking lights will not turn on, but...
Hello , I am a bit frustrated !!! My break light on the L side would not come on when brake was depressed. So I went and bought another #1157. well when I installed it it still would not come on until I put some pressure on with my fingers. I thought maybe it was the little contact that needed to be pulled forward to have a better connection, well I used a thin long screw driver, to pull the little tabs forward, well now neither front or rear light comes on, it does turn on only when the brake pedal is depressed !! other bulbs on the L side work fine , flashers, and turning signal
Why wont the brake light come on anymore ?? and the same with the front amber light on the L side.. Any one have an idea, where I screwed up ??%&*#% thats how I feel.,.  |
check your fuses in the trunk. left and right sides are fused independantly, possibly brakes fused differently from parking lights. inside the fuse box cover is the legend for what fuse is for what function.

Thanks Tony G. I did that , I checked the fuses, they seem ok. also the side marker light Rear will not come on either, I traded bulb on the front r and l marker lights , both bulbs ok. I am running out of ideas.%#$&@ , better get some shut eye.

ground connections would be next on the list along with circuit continuity.

Check your blinker switch and ground wires.

another day, good morning, blinkers work, flashers work, it all started to happen when i stuck a thin screw driver where the bulb for the brake light was, to bend it forward a bit. now all this side will not turn on the brake light and the side marker light and the front L amber lights. but when the break is depressed , or flashers on, or blinker on,, it works. If I shorted something, what would it be? There is power going to that side , but its selective. I will be home all day , checking , this forum, between my house chores. Carpet cleaning, attempting to organize the garage for the 10th time.//thanks for your imput guys !!! (:

Well, success, !!! fuse #4 how I missed that !!?? that blew of course when I stuck it with the screwdriver, and touched both tabs at once !!! what a dumb dumb !!! thanks , now to more interesting things, like replacing the damaged rocker panel R side, crunched when i changed a rear blow out some time ago// . I have the panel.
