Window Sticker?

I have often seen advertisements for Porsche's for sale and the owner lists
"Window Sticker".
What is the relavence of this?
and is this the credit card sized sticker that lists "stock #, Year, Make, Model, Color and VIN"?
So does anyone know what this proves and does it add value to the car?
If so, I shall make sure I store it somewhere safe!.

I think most 2nd or 3rd owners of 911's would love to have the original window sticker. I know with every new car I had, I would keep it with all the original documents. It lets you know more about the cars history and all the options it came with. It's nice to have but I don't think it would add much value unless it is some kind of showroom car.

Ben, I think it shows more meticulous record keeping from the prior owner. I have mine and it is pretty interesting just to look at the original equipment and what the options cost.
