So as I was putting the ac compressor up back on the decklid I dropped a couple things. 1st thing was a allen wrench about 3 inches long. and a nut. I think they fell into that area under the alternator. so I used my magnet and my springy clamps and was unable to retrieve them. I looked EVERYWHERE else but no luck, I started up the car and it idles fine I cannot hear any rattle. So what now? suggestions?

You could build a Dukes of Hazard spinny corkscrew ramp, and hit it doing about 100mph. Then film it and put it on YouTube.
Sorry...

Ha. I'm sorry I can't offer any help, but that was a funny-as-hell post right there.

Pulling the fan housing isn't very hard at all - I went from start to alternator on the bench in 35 minutes the first time. You don't need to do that much, just release the fan housing to find your missing parts...

Probably fell down below the crank pulley...or behind the a/c bracket.

thanks but I guess my main concern is assuming it fell down below that fan, what is worse case if I drive it, hit a bump and the allen wrench pops up? am I looking at the possibility of damage?

Maybe I am not using the right term here. What is the radiator looking thing attached to the decklid? It has something to do with A/C? right? well anyways, if something drops in the area below the fan, and it pops up, is there damage possible? CAN I Drive it?

How did it fall behind the fan? Dont you have an engine cover? Are you talking about the Alt fan?

The decklid was open. I was putting the screw in to hold the A/C evap or condeser up into the decklid, the wrench dropped and I am pretty sure it fell under the fan.

I wouldn't worry about it much right now. It's not likely to leep up and get into anything. Shoot, people have spark plugs, nuts, bolts and all kinds of things down in there. A lot don't even know it. But, remember that it's in there and when you are doing something else a little more aggressive, get it out.
