Heater control?

When I connect the power lead to my 1982 911sc automatic heater control unit, it starts to melt the small circuit board inside where the red/white wire enters the board.Does anyone know whats going on here or have a wiring diagram of the unit? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Ian

I have no idea, but Pelican does have an '82 electrical diagram, but it is multi-paged:

I can't tell you whats happening either. But I do have an 84 with such a switch that I am parting out. Let me know If I can help with any comparison questions or if you get it figures out and need a new switch, or other parts.
