flasher location

Here's another question for you folks. A simple one I'm sure but not for me. Due to the fact I haven't purchased a factory manual yet I'm having a tuff time recognizing which one of the many flasher relays is the one responsible for the turn signals on my 71 911E. I know it's a simple one for most of you but bare with me it's my first porsche and I'm still learning.

Thanks,
Randy http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

I don't know about you guys, but anytime a flasher asks me to bare with him, I usually decline the offer. Sorry, I just couldn't resist...Lol. Seriously, just turn the flasher on(no....wait, that didn't sound right...)uh, with the flashers operating, you should be able to pinpoint the correct relay by listening closely to them and feeling them with your fingertip to see which is vibrating as the relay opens and closes-Butt, be careful to avoid exposed..uh, wires. Oh, and you may want to invest in a car cover-any Porsche buff will agree what a good idea it is to cover your ass(ets.)

That would be fine if it was working but it's not. That's why I'm trying to locate it, So I can replace it.
Thanks anyway!

Randy,

It is behind the instrument panel in the trunk, and it is a tall, shiny aluminum cased relay, about 1" square, and 2" tall.
