tire chatter
does anyone know why when i leave hard in first gear my rear tires don't spin smooth they chatter .it seems like the back of the car is bouncing

what you are experiencing is wheel hop. Depending upon traction, tire pressure, the construction on the tire itself, shock absorber characterisitcs and spring rates, the buildup of torque is is released through the tire the suspension jounces and rebounds as the energy is discharged.
Your shocks may be in need of replacement or adjustment. A different tire compound /tire pressure might help. Also, don,t 'drop the clutch'. Get the tires 'hooked up' first before getting to full throttle. Les

Thanks ,The car is new 2006 997,I think that I put to much air in the rear tires and it was a cold day.I will try not to drop to clutch as well.

I would venture a guess that your shocks would be in good shape too.
