Trick tips for mounting IROC bumper
 

I got my boat anchor off the front of the car in order to mount an IROC fiberglass unit. Any good ideas on a way to mount that allows for an easy install/removal in the future. My main concern is the top front. I will be using the 4 holes in the front trunk to secure it, but I will obviously have to have the bumper modified to accept something. The corners of the unit where it meets the fenders are easy with just nuts and bolts.
The car is a 930.

My car came with it installed. Looks like they had fabricated 2 L Al brackets with elongated holes to allow for positioning. The edges by the fenders are held with nuts/bolts. Lou

Those look like the bumper/bracket mounts that GT Racing equips their IROC bumpers with. I'm about to install mine here soon. The lower fiberglass "mounts" were broken when I received them. I figure a stop a the fiberglass aisle at the local boat/marine shop should give me everything I need to make a strong repair.

I just mounted a 74 RS style (I think it was a Getty). The only mounting hardware that the bumper came with was speednuts for the 4 holes from the smile. Then I drilled holes to match the mounting holes within the fenders. Finally, I'm going to put some metal bracing in on the lower front edge that should take the abuse of low approach angles and provide a little more support.

I heard a great trick to reinforce the lower half of bumpers to make them stronger, but not much heavier. If you cut a cardboard tube (Like the kind you'd get with a roll of wrapping paper) lengthwise you can lay it in then "glue" it in with fiberglass resin. It makes it stiff and strong without making it too much heavier.
