All Euro Swap (formerly Dunkels) for 2007?
The All Euro Swap website only says they can't announce a date because of "a scheduling conflict" with Vet's Stadium in Long Beach. But, people are getting flyers about a meet in March down in Costa Mesa.
What's going on? Anyone? It's getting kind of late for those that want to plan travel, etc. |

No, but apparently the 356 folks are getting somethning. Remember, Bob Cambell, the promoter, owns 356 Sales. So, it might be something different that is going down. I'd like to see the All Euro thing happen, anywhere, but I guess it will never be a Dunkels.
Just be thankful that you got to go to one of those if you ever did. And, just to be clear, Bob did most of the work on those, too. It must have been the place, the time, Peter and Cheryl Dunkel, their museum, their cars, I don't know. It was special. Maybe what Long Beach Vets Stadium needs is some grass instead of all asphalt. Hey, could it be moved to the Queen Mary? No grass, but not as bad a location either. Of course, OC Fairgrounds has had some great car shows and swaps over the years. Bob, are you around? |

Hope to see you there Everyone! Here's the info:
"So Cal “All Porsche” Swap and Car Display. Update #2 Frankly, we are overwhelmed with the response we have had from the Porsche community. Both the 356 Club and the 912 Registry want to thank all those that have helped us get the word out to the car owners and vendors about this awesome event. We have also been trampled with offers to help on site and in the background. We are thankful to many in the community that have stepped up and donated to make the event really come together. Some of what is planned will include a fantastic vendor display. So far, Bruce Crawford, Classic and Speed Parts, Hollywood Speedometer, Toad Hall, Motor Books, LN Engineering, 9 Magazine, International Mercantile and many other vendors have committed to join us. Along with these vendors, we’ve heard from the regular swappers and it looks like we’ll have a huge selection of Porsche parts available. This event follows on the heals of Jim Perrin and Prescott Kelly’s annual Porsche/VW Lit, Toy and Memorabilia Swap Meet (http://www.lalitandtoyshow.com/) at the LAX Hilton. This is the BIG weekend for the Porsche community to come together. The Porsche community won’t be back together like this until Bob Campbell’s Ventura Show in September 2007. Each car coming in for display parking will make a donation of $20. Swappers will make a $40 donation. Vendor space will be available, but must be reserved prior to February 15th. For vendor display information and reservations, contact Bob Lee at Robert.b.lee@nsc.com or 858-414-3523. ALL proceeds will go to the children’s charity, Technology for Kids Foundation. Though the event opens at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning, clubs, swappers and vendors can set up on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Right next door to the event site sits European Collectables, who will be hosting an open house for the Porsche community from 4:00 – 7:00 Saturday evening, March 10th. Afterwards, you can then head out to dinner in any one of the great restaurants down in the Newport Beach and the Orange County area. We have arranged a block of rooms for Saturday night, March 10th at the Ramada Limited Inn and Suites. It is located just three blocks from the event site and there is a special room rate of $85 for that evening. The Ramada is located at 1680 Superior Ave, Costa Mesa, California 92627. Their number is 800-345-8025. Make sure you make your reservation by February 9th, 2007 and ask for the “All Porsche” rate. So, save the date, March 11th, 2007. Bring your Porsche, whatever money you have leftover from the Literature Meet, your friends and join us for a celebration of Porsche! Breakfast and lunch will be available, so plan to spend the day soaking in the glory that is Porsche. Watch for updates and for information; contact Jeff Trask at NO911NV@aol.com or 949-697-4499 or Pete McNulty at pmcnulty98@aol.com or 949-400-9319. Let us know how you want to be involved!"

How big is this new site? Placentia in CM is not that open that I know of. Sounds like people will be parked all up and down Placentia that day. Sorta like Dunkels if you didn't get a pass to park on the lawn or in one of the reserved corrals. Just the R Gruppe and Early S Registry is good for nearly 50 cars. Add another 50 356's and 20 or so 912's and you've got a barn full.
Oh, and the Boxster folks get into this, too, At least they got a few out to Dunkels. What about the cars for sale? I see a potential for 200 cars. Won't happen, but it could. |
