Early 911 Door Hinge Bolts and other Hardware

I did a search, and saw a few threads, but there doesn't seem to be an answer... yet.

I have a '70 and will need a whole set of door hinge bolts/screws for driver's side door. Has anyone discovered a source for the proper 12 point mounting hardware, or at least something comparable that will work? I see stories of people ordering them and getting hardware that won't work, because of the bolts being superseded later by Porsche.

Can anyone tell me what the actual size is?? I've seen the size referenced with two different thread pitches, but not sure what the actual is. I'm assuming this is not something that can just be ordered from McMaster Carr.

Also, being that my car was apart when I got it, I'm missing a ton of other hardware. (hood, deck lid, fenders, bumpers, a TON) Is there a good source to cross-reference these part numbers and order them as needed?

Thanks for any help!
Cheers!
S

Parts manual, will give you all the required bolt sizes. As you said be careful with part numbers, as a lot of parts have been supperceeded.

The hinge bolts are M8 and I replaced a couple that the PO had destroyed, I ended up posting a WTB and was lucky enough to find a Pelican that sent me enough for free.

The correct fender bolts with the K are hard to find, but if you aren't that concerned, the fender mounting kit sold here will work fine, and give you all the washers needed.

Okay! Great! Thank you! I appreciate that!

Maybe I'll just put up a WTB for any and all hardware. HAHA!

I'm not too concerned about correctness (for now) as long as everything opens and closes as intended. Bolts and fasteners that are really visible, I am concerned about correctness.

So it sounds like there simply isn't a source for "correct" door mounting hardware, as of yet. True statement?

Thanks for the reply, and if any of you happen to have some extra hardware laying around, please let me know.

Try EASY in CA they probably have a bucket full of the things.

Also a post on the early S board would probably yield results.

Hey guys, sorry to bump this up again. Anyone happen to know if the bolt threads are M8x1.0 or M8x1.25? Just learned I may have the bolts right here on the shop floor at work and can get them for free if I know which pitch. Any help would be appreciated! THANKS!

EDIT: The bolt size seems to be an M8x1.25 x 20mm long. Maybe that will help someone.

Bolts

Just had the same issue.
Measured my 12 point bolts and the thread length is 16mm
Found a stainless bolt (hex, not 12 point) with the dsam elow head for $7 for 10.
Hope this helps
