Santa screwed up . . .
I received a 1/24 die cast 996 on Christmas morning. Beautiful and it will look great on the office desk. However, I'm sure this was a mistake. If you received my real 996 please forward it to me. I'll pay shipping of course
Thanks. Merry Christmas, Mele Kalikimaka {(Sp?) -------------- Paul 79SC Targa [This message has been edited by pbs911 (edited 12-25-2000).] |

I only recieved a picture of my new 993! I'm SURE the real one is stuck in the mail somewhere. In the meam time, I'm stuck playing Need For Speed. I wish I could turn DAMAGE OFF on my real car!

I was supposed to get assorted cosmetic goodies for my Carrera, but somehow Santa stopped off at my bedroom while I was waiting for him on my recliner by the tree. My big X-mas present from my wife was the news that I'm gonna be a daddy.. Great News!! But I think Santa needs to keep to delivering toys!!

Congratulations! If you're not already a daddy, I'll warn you that you're about to get the best toy you will every have, hands down. Sorry guys, but babies are even more special than 911s.

Guys
My guess is that Santa doesn't drive a Porsche! He left me some nice plain alloy coloured crested center caps for Teledials, Design 90's or Cups. Trouble is my 3.2 Carrera wears black Fuchs - oops! ![]() ------------------ Alan Brown 86 Carrera 3.2 |

I agree with Super, I'm a new dad now for 5 months. There is not much that can pull me out of the garage in my spare time, my son can with either a smile or a cry.

Now that you're going to have kids, don't let anybody (ie wife) talk you into selling the P-car and getting a "family car". I've clipped a car seat into the passenger side for both of my daughters, and after that, they fit quite nicely in the back seats! My now 12 year old daughter won't let me sell my SC cause she wants to drive it when she's 16.

Now, I know you folks are only pretending to whine about the nice things I brought you. And I also know that the wanting is perhaps greater fun than the having, truth be told, which is part of the reason you sometimes must wait for things. Enjoy that wait.
And finally, I am not intending to be harsh when I point out that one of the deliveries I made was to a hungry little Ethiopian girl with AIDS. She didn't get what she really wanted either. Please forgive this little bit of cold water as I know you are thankful for what you have, and compassionate toward those less, well, just plain lucky. I'll drop by again next year, but I'll be 'seeing you' all year! Santa ------------------ Santa |

Christmas for me came two days early. My girlfriend (Ex-girlfriend) told me on the 23rd that she cheated on me with one of her "guy-friends" a month ago. What fun it was fielding questions at christmas dinner like "So where's Hannah?" "Uhhh.... don't ask." Oh, did I mention that two days before my Puerto Vallarta vacation, (With aforementioned Ex-girlfriend) my favorite aunt suddenly and unexpectedly died from a blood clot? Missed the funeral.
Well I did very much enjoy my family time though. But why do bad things always happen this time of year? ------------------ Tyson Schmidt 72 911 cabriolet (964 bodywork) |

Thanks to all well-wishers.. This will indeed be my 1st child. I'm 29 yrs old and it's as good a time as any... There will absolutely be no selling of the P-car.. Bought the wife a brand new Durango last month.. Seems things have been timed perfectly!!! I now drive her Camry to work and the P-car comes out on days off...
Happy New Year to all.. Pete 77'Carrera3.0 ------------------ www.geocities.com/pcafaro2000/carrera30.html |

Thanks. I keep telling myself that every end brings a new beginning. Thinking about moving to southern California where it's P-car heaven and sunny weather. Then I can put the top down more than 1 month out of the year. Anybody know of an opening for a P-mechanic down there? I'm seriously thinking about it.

Congratulations Pete,
I had my first child (a son) 4 months ago. And brought him home on my 50th birthday! There are both infant and child seats that will fit in the back of a 911- check out some of the old posts if you don’t know which. Those little back seats are handy for something. Another reason I’m glad I don’t have a Boxster Best of luck -Andy 84 Cab [This message has been edited by Andy Snow (edited 12-26-2000).] |

Tyson, sorry to hear about the female trouble. Better to learn about that sort of thing earlier than later. I hope her Christmas presents were returnable.
And while I don't know about any full-time P-car work, I am putting together all the pieces to upgrade my 911 to turbo brakes. If you're looking for a working vacation down here, let me know. Black Beauty would keep you busy for a little while. ![]() ------------------ Jack Olsen 1973 911 T (3.6) sunroof coupe |

Sorry, Tyson. You're right though. Endings are beginnings. Do something to celebrate your freedom.

Thanks Superman. I'll do just that.
Jack, I returned them the very next day. Made me feel better. The "working vacation" sounds like a great idea if you're serious. I could kill two birds with one stone by job hunting in that area at the same time. It would be an honor and a privelege to work on "Black Beauty"! Unfortunately my tool box weighs more than my car (almost as big too) so I can't bring it with. I just really feel like I need to get the hell outta Dodge right now. Thanks to all for the moral support. ------------------ Tyson Schmidt 72 911 cabriolet (964 bodywork) |

To the "soon to be" dad...Congrats! Time to start working on a mobile to hang over the crib. A few key fobs, some center caps, a hood badge, maybe a couple of chain ramps, an old tensioner, a second copy of the Pelican Parts CD... I'm sure Leland or Warren could be even more creative, but you get the idea. Catch em while they are in the formative stages. Also make sure the wife listens to the exhaust note every day and if at all possible time the drive to the hospital so it is done in the 911. who knows if you time it right ya just might not make it to the hospital and the kid will be born in the car!!!!
