Mixture...What did I do?

After installing a steve Wong chip and cat bypass and a very free flowing muffler my idle seemed very rough. I adjusted the idle per the 101 book and it still seemd a little rough.

I went and then adjusted the mixture screw (motronic) and screwed out got rougher and richer it seemed. then i adjusted in 1/4 to 1/8 turns in. the idle smoothed out like none other and i just as smooth as can be.

I will take it to a shop with a co meter later until now I have a very smooth running idle and can acutally put it in gear at very low speed with out it jerking around.

SO the question is what did do by screwing it in? Lean or Rich?

After doing some reading pages and pages I think I richened it up. Sems weird cause now the exhaust smells better. Idle is great. I guess it would make sense.free flow exhaust would cause a lean condition an rough idle.

Hell I dont know

Better get the volt meter out

you really need a co meter to adjust this properly, there was one making the rounds for rental, the search button should find it for you, pm me if you can't find it.

on the 3.2 you need to disconnect the o2 sensor (i believe that's what you disconnect) to adjust or the dme will compensate and won't give you an accurate reading.
