Is there anywhere I can cross reference the chassis serial number with the engine serial number? It is for a 1982 European 911 Turbo. Thanks Thor

Only in general terms. In other words, you can identify a range of numbers for the engine that would have been installed in a 1982 930. There isn't anything available that will supply the exact engine number for a particular chassis, unless you get the information from Porsche. Only the current registered owner may request that.

There are many books that have the general information. It's probably easier for you to post the numbers here and let somebody look it up.

Exactly. The COA from Porsche for a fee will give you the engine # that was installed into what chassis#. Other than that, your VIN will tell you what year car and the references available will tell what the engine numbers start with for that year car.

Thanks for the info. I will try to contact Porsche of America. This was a grey marked car, so I might not be successful there. We will see. Thor

My 71'S was a Euro import from Belgium. I got the C of A from PCNA and it had all the info on it.
