Windshield wipers wont park... Help!

My windshield wipers don't seem to want to park properly. This symptom was accompanied by the fact that my Wipers would operate continuously when set to intermittent.

After doing some searching on this board, I've found some useful information, suggesting that I simply need to tweak a contact on the inside of the switch. So I opened it up, and found this:

By tweaking contact "A", I got the intermittent setting to work properly, (while the steering column was still dissasembled). However, the wipers still do not want to park.

Do I need to tweak contact "B"? Doing this seemed to make the wipers run at full tilt rathr than park...

Do I need to re-assemble the steering column to complete a ground circuit?

Perhaps it is the conact within the motor? (although if would be surprising to me if both contacts failed at the same time). If it is the contact within the motor, can I fix that?

Thanks in advance,
CB

OK... got it figured out. Apparently I didn't do a good enough job the first time. You are only supposed to tweak contact "A" such that it closes when the stalk is in the "OFF" position. contact "B" is only supposed to close when the stalk is "OFF" and you pull it to activate the washer pump. That way the wipers start moving when you spray them with fluid.

Thanks for the update. I have the same problem. I'll give this a try.
