Chrome Plate Wheels?
Does anyone know of a place that chrome plates steel wheels? I'd like to get a set done for my '66 - 911.

There is a company that lists chome wheels on ebay on an exchange basis. It is about 600.00 a set, and they will do your wheels and return them or sometimes sell them outright. Look under wheels, wheelset, rims.

thats possibly going to make them a bit heavy. I chromed some Lancia wheels a while ago and they were a bit heavier, and did not do well through the winters

Dan, I've looked under wheels, chrome wheels, etc. but come up empty for a company that does exchanges. There is a company called Wheel Enhancement which offers exchanges but they don't do steel wheels. Only alloy. If you come up with a name, I'd really appreciate it.
FGO, Porsche offered both chrome and painted wheels on SWB cars but I'm not familiar with the amount of added weight. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable would like to comment. As to wintering well, I agree but they were probably no worse than the cars themselves. I.E. If they got salted, they didn't last.

classic components, sport chrome ans lax wheel seem to do good work. they are all in california.....there are a bunch of chrome platers in the nashville tn. area but i have seen good and bad work from that area.
