sheetmetal thickness
Is there a chart or guide for the thickness of the sheetmetal in the various parts of our cars, especially early LWB? I am having a bit of a time finding a good deal on used replacement sheetmetal for my floorpan (I am familiar with the vendors for new stuff) and may just fab up a patch once I know the thickness to buy....done a search, no definitive answer I could find. thanks

1 mm and 18 ga. are very close. Most of the body and pans are 1 mm. There is some lighter gauge here and there in the sub frame/ horns, A-pillars and such. For that, 22 ga. works well. Or you can use the 20 ga. When I hammer form something, I tend to go heavy since I will be grinding/sanding a lot. But, folding, shaping or otherwise working with 16 ga. is a PITA.

1 mm, which is pretty thick for a vehicle nowadays. 16 or 18 gauge should work fine depending on how much forming you have to do.
