New Sled (to me)
Just picked up this 87 Cab in Dallas to go along with my 78 930. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the U.S. and Euro spec. engines? Sorry about the crappy pic. Pat

I believe compression ratio and 214 (217?) and 231 hp for euro engines. I need to reference my spec book I have on my 87 coup to be sure.

Very nice. I wish I would have use for a rag top here in Sweden (more than average 10 days/year).
Only thing I know is that us Europeans were blessed with 231 ponies during the whole Carrera series. The later year models, including the 87, could be had with an optional cat in Germany reducing the output to 217.

Livi, wow! That's news to me. You're saying that the Cat alone reduced the Euro engine's hp by 14? Wow. Speaks volumes about how much hp was sapped by the early Cats.
By the way, Livi, did I see you in print in a recent Porsche magazine? |

I know that the CR was 10.3 Euro vs 9.5 U.S., but were the DME, cams, and etc. the same?
Thanks, Pat
