wheel spacer questions...

i need to bring my wheels out a little bit as they sit in the fenders more than i want them to.

tonite christian (a quiet boom) and i measured up what i need and we came up with 3/4" for the front and 1.25" for the rear.
i know the rears will need the adapters which bolt on with separate studs so i'm set there....

on the fronts with the 3/4" spacers i plan on installing new studs but how long should they be? i'm using the lightweight alloy lugnuts with my fuchs.
it's an 85' carrera.

thanks

The stock front stud is 45mm, you need at least 19mm (3/4 inch) more stud length to accomodate your spacer. A 64mm stud is not available, so I would buy the 72mm one part number 901 331 671 00.

Cheers

Pelican has a 67mm stud. Part no 911 331 671 60 m260.
A Fuchs wheel without a spacer and stock studs should leave 22mm of stud exposed. An additional 22mm from the 67 mm stud will expose 44mm. Less the 19mm spacer leaves 25. Your closed end lugnuts should be 28mm deep, with 13-14 threads. That should allow you to engage all of the threads, and have 3mm headroom. Close, but it should work.

I've done these measurements on my car, but you should repeat them on yours to be sure.

Good luck
Joe

Hi bell, I just put DRM 1" spacers on the front of my '74 Targa. The spacers bolted to the stock studs and my OZ wheels (15x8's) bolted to the studs already in place with the spacers--no stud replacement needed. I'm not sure if Pelican sells these, I found them at ***************. Good Luck, and be sure to retorque as instructed.

Why not just use the DRM spacers on all 4 corners? I have a set of 21mm on the rears, and they are so easy and solid I would use them on the fronts as well. (If I were going to space the front out) I just don't get a warm and fuzzy about nine mile long wheel studs. Make sure what ever you go with it is hubcentric.
