Porsche Repair shops along the Gulf Coast

I will be leaving Tuesday to travel to the 12 hours of Sebring. I will be roughly following I-10 from Texas to Tallahassee.

I would like to compile a list of Porsche repair shops along the corridor along with their locations and telephone numbers just in case something comes up.

That's where the Pelicans come in. If you know of a shop along the way, could you post the shops name, a contact person, and the phone number?

Any help would be appreciated. Mark

Mark-

I live in Mobile AL and it's a desert for vintage Porsches.

I've been told by others that Zimmermann on Government Boulevard (251-478-8816) is a good Porsche mechanic but I have no personal experience with him.

If you are near Biloxi MS, I have been told by another Porscheophile that Howard Freidman is a great Porsche mechanic, esp. with MFI, but that was pre-Katrina. I don't know if he survived the hurricane. The number I have for him is 228-865-0180. Again I have no personal experience with him either.

There's a Porsche dealer in Mobile (Dean McCrary, 251-471-3326) on I-65 just north of its I-10 intersection. I'd consider them a last resort.

If you get stuck in Mobile and can't get help, give me a call. I'll PM you my number.

Hope this helps,

Steve
