Curb rash
I read alot about polishing Fuchs but how do you deal with curb rash. I picked up a used set I would like to polish but I don't remember any discussion about dealing with this?
Anyone done this? Thanks Larry

I see you're just up the road and remembered this thread:
Fuch restoration in Canada? You might get lucky with the Toronto area shops. The curb rash might have to be weld filled and polished depending how bad they are. Good luck.

I've not done it, but here's my understanding:
Depending on the depth of the curb rash, you are simpling adding filing and coarse sanding before fine sanding and polishing. If the rash is really deep, however, you'll need to fill in the gouges. For later wheels, frankly Bondo works pretty good, but then you'll cover with paint. For polished Fuchs, you'll need a metal fill (i.e. welding) of some sort. Then filing, sanding, etc. Tough one.

Thanks, looks like I'll get a price from some place after I get some good photos.

Larry, I sent you a private message (PM). Not sure if you have seen it or have your PM notification on. Check your 'user cp' button at the top of the page.
Thanks.
