Yet another tire pressure question

I checked the archives and didn't find an answer, so I was hoping someone can help me out. I've got a 92 C2 and the recommended tire pressure is 36/44 (front/back). My tires are Dunlop SP8000's and the max pressure stamped on the side of the tires is 44 psi. Is it safe for me to inflate the rears to 44 psi? Or should I stay a little below the max, such as 40 psi? Thanks.

It is perfectly safe to use those pressures, but not such a great idea from the standpoint of your tire life on the rears. Those pressures are based upon the assumtion of Autobahn driving in Europe, not USA driving conditions! I suspect the 'regular' US recommendations of 29/35 psi would work just fine for you.
