mufflers

Noticed a lot of Queries re mufflers from time to time. I like the boxter style with the outlet[s] in the middle. has anyone tried this setup on a 911? Would the exhaust gases get back into the car,or the engine air inlet, or perhaps be extra loud without the airflow to blow the noise away?
I'm thinking of two of those cherry bomb vortex things exiting in the center.Could be a lo-cost alternative ,perhaps

Dual outlets located just off center have been done, both with the trumpet-style outlets used in racing and with stright outlets. AJ-USA has a dual outlet sport muffler with two pipes shooting straight back, out on either side of the license plate, basically.

Back in the early 70's I had a '72 with a ducktail and Ansa exhaust, 4 center outlets under the center valance(yes, the side outlet was welded and refinished and it sounded great!!). The vortex behind the ducktail collected an oily film from road debris and exhaust fumes, it was difficult to keep as clean as the rest of the car. My current car has twin SC/Carrera outlets, with no similar types of cleanliness problems.

I recently backdated my exhaust to the 74 SSI heat exchangers. They came with the sport muffler that had tips exiting under the license plate.

The underside of the whaletail was considerably dirtier after a run on the highway. A switch to a dual outlet B&B muffler with outlets near the wheels got rid of the problem.

I am now going with a Borla muffler and have the B&B for sale. Similar outlets but higher quality, appearance, warranty and sound suppresion, with comparable performance.
