M&K For 3.2 with 993 HE's?

Do M&K make a 2 in 2 out muffler to work with a 3.2 engine using 993 heat exchangers, or do I have to buy a STD 2 in muffler and modify it to get this to work?

Thanks Steve

From what I've seen on Pelican they'll make whatever you want them to make and are very helpful in altering 'standard' models

Edited:

D'oh - forgot I was on Pelican - thought I was on Impact Bumpers - sorry.

Comment still stands though - Ben has seemed to be really helpful on the forum

Remember - 993 HE came with two different connectors - Not sure it matters, but you'll have to ask Ben

Sladey what did Uk shipping set you back on your muffler? Are you using stk 3.2 h/e's or 993 ones.

I have a M&K for the bischof (Spelling?) 993 HE's but Ben is the one to ask if he makes one for your application. Don't you flip the flanges or something to make the HE's work on the 3.2?

Short answer: Search button. Long answer: Yes he can make a 2 in 2 out and yes you have to flip the right [passenger side] flanges That info can be found, guess where? [search 993 heat exchangers]

I've got an M&K muffler on 993 HEs and it works great. Ben modified the 993 HEs for me in addition to building the muffler. I'd be wary of a 2-out setup considering how loud the 1-out muffler I have is. Don't get me wrong, the sound is AMAZING, but you can't turn the key without waking the neighbors. With the PMOs on my 3.5 the car sounds like a race car, and belches fire on decel to boot! At idle it rumbles like a V-8.

Hi Steve,

It set me back $100 - I didn't order from Pelican - they quoted $175 shipping ont he site, and then emailed a week later to say it would be $250ish.

I went to the other supplier quoted on the M&K site and ordered through them. Having said that I'm currently awaiting delivery - should've come last week!

I've not hear of the 993 H/E mod - what's the advantage of that?

Cheers

Mark

993 he's are like the early setup and SSi's each side flows individually straight into the muffler, resulting in lower flow resistance.

Who is the shipping with? did you get tracking? for $130 I got a pair of fuchs wheels sent from the states last month weighing 40lbs in total with the 3 layer carboard packageing. I had it within 5 working days of it been sent. Think that was USPS global express mail.

Sorry Steve, no idea who it's with - I just ordered it through www.euroeastparts.com

So basically to reiterate your earlier question you just buy the 993 HE's (which include the exhaust parts) and then connect that to an M&K muffler (with slight modification)

Presumably you need a different M&K muffler - I've ordered a single in single out one - oh bugger

Cheers

Mark

You buy a pair of 993 HE's you need to slightly modify one, the right one needs the flanges flipping because there opasite on that one to the 3.2 easily done. You also need to re route the oil line for the early type which is about £40. Then they bolt right up. I got some 993 bischof HE's on fle-bay for £31 yesturday. Then you buy MK's modified 2 in x out muffler for 3.6 conversions and which from the price ben sent me today is only $25 more expensive than the STD muffler. Much cheeper than SSI's and probably as good if not better.

If you wanted to do this I bet you could get your money back on that muffler selling it here in the UK anyway. So many people are still weary of buying from abroad and are much happier to pay a little more for something in there own country. Get it on impact bumpers That spotless back date of yours deserves it

Or can A single in muffler be changed to a dual in without opening up the muffler? or do the inlets require internal routing?

Steve
