ride height

Well I forgot to note the ride height when I removed the spring plates to replace the bushings. Will someone measure from the ground to the center of the torsion bar and from the ground to the center of the wheel. I just need a ballpark number so I can get it rolling and to the guy who will align, lower and corner balance.

My issue is that the car is up on jack stands and setting something to a given angle is impossible. So if someone can measure from the ground to the center of the torsion bar and from the ground to the center of the wheel. I can get it close enough.

Hey Mike, go to the angle calculator and punch in your specs and it will tell you exactly what angle to set the spring plate at.

I used to have the page saved but you'll have to search.

Is the result of that calculation (ie. from angle calculator linked above) the recommended angle between level and the Spring Plate when its on the Torsion Bar and hanging there unattached to the Trailing Arm (and of course car jacked up)?

I appreciate all the help but...
The car is not level so I can't use any angle calculator, yet. I have the car jacked up far beyond level. Will someone measure the distance from the ground to the center of the torsion bar and from the ground to the center of the wheel? I can take it from there.

put your angle indicator on the sill of the open door. Establish a baseline angle of the car and correct for level, then calculate the springplate angle compensating for the unlevel car.

ground -> center of wheel is about 12"
ground -> center of cap over torsion bar is about 11"

Those measurments will vary lots with diameter of wheel and tire size.

Garage
I expect you wont get it right first time, and will have to adjust a second time.

See my experience on angles and height estimates
