2008 997 GT2 sans disguise
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2008-porsche-911-gt2-997-future.html
Not as nice looking as the 997 GT3 series cars out.

In looks very Cayman-esque to me:
![]() I like it. Those front turn signals look a bit jiggy. Ditto the cosmetic appearing grill work on the back. ![]() Still, I like it.

Not sure im feelin it, the back looks a little over developed. I dont really care though, the GT2 was never really my cup of tea...unless you are talking 993 GT2 and then all bets are off!

Did Porsche hire a stylist from Saleen?

IMHO from a design standpoint, those Saleen-esk vents look detacted from the rest of the design. Either do clean large openings like the front, or continue the shark gill design elsewhere on the car. To me this car seems to be a wine stain on Porsches impressive new product line. A 1984 Silver Oak wine stain, but one none the less. I am speaking purely from a design standpoint, I imagine the thing goes like a scalded dog.

From a design standpoint, the case could be made that those "shark teeth" (as some have called them) are really nothing more than an effort to redirect the airflow extracted from underneath the vehicle so as to reduce the low pressure zone created as the vehicle moves at speed. The roiling of the air in that zone would be lessened, and drag reduced (somewhat). OR, it could be that the designers had too much beer and wanted to do something to create this type of interest. People who have been in design studio(s) know the BS that's generated to get ideas accepted. . .and I should know (Master of Architecture, Catholic University. Same school of Architecture the American Idol person attended. Nice. . .).
