i posted this on another board, maybe it will be of help to you:

here's some good porsche modeling links:
http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/DMAWK/index.html
http://www.twoguysracing.com
http://www.sportcraftcars.com/
http://www.modelcarhub.com/

if those places don't have what you are looking for, then they will at least know where to look.

enjoy!

The best ones I have seen are Franklin Mint or Danbury. They are discontinued but on ebay occasionally. I had a regular one when I was 13 and I wish I kept it cause they are almost impossible to find. Especially if you are looking for a non-turbo car.

Hey Adam,
Many of us who are up to our armpits in DE/track season prep would surely appreciate if you'd post back here if you find a source. I'd sure like to find a Carrera model - non turbo.
Thanx!

i'll be happy to post info as i get it. so far, i have only gotten an inquiry response from autofanatics (thanks, clay), and they said this:

"Talk about a challenge! I'm sorry to say that we are unable to help with
your request at this time. No manufacturer even has them listed (you're not
the first to ask). That doesn't mean that they weren't built, but it does
mean there are none presently in production which limits our options."

i'll keep looking, though. the closest thing i've found so far in diecast is an '89 speedster.

if anyone else finds some, please let me know. you'd think these and the sc's would be all over the place, given their popularity.

Believe it or not, there's on in the Performance show room: an SC or 3.2 Cabriolet non-turbo.
It's a small model, but you can tell she's a US 3.2 or SC by the black fuchs and frog headlights. I was going to get it, but got so absorbed in the tail I was picking up, I forgot. Call em and tell em you know one's in the show room cause you just saw it there!

What scale are you looking for? 1/12, 1/18, 1/24, 1/43

i'm not looking for any particular scale, really. i'd just like to find a 3.2 carrera in diecast.

kurt, are you talking about performance parts' showroom?

p.s. i found a minichamps black diecast sc, if anyone's interested...
