diff detween T and E
good morning,wondering what the difference is between a 71 T AND E,Thaaanks,Marty

Hi Marty,
Not sure how much detail you need; so I'll get the ball rolling... The T's were lower HP and compression. The T's run either Weber or Zenith carbies whilst the E's run The Bosch MFI system (mechanical fuel injection). Other differences like the T's had a Marelli dissy(sometimes Bosch if you're lucky) and the E's had a Bosch one. Different cams as well. There are several more; like the Ts came standard with 5 1/2" rims as opposed to E's with 6" (x 15"). Like I said I got the ball rolling....more answers will be forthcoming I'm sure. (I have an assignment due - sorry!) |
Thanks Lisa,I guess I should have been more specific but it was 3 in the morning, thats my excuse,I have a T with rs flares that I am about to start working on,I also have an E motor that I think I will put in.I just wondered what other differences the models had. Thanks,Marty

Marty,
The biggest difference would definitely be the higher hp. I've never driven an E or S, but apparently they're just that much more nimble and quick, compared to a T. Even at a smaller displacement (say 2.2 E compared to 2.4 T). If you've got an E engine, hell yeah, put it in there! Chris |
The E's had the hydropnuematic front struts that SUCKED when one went bad!
