New Seat Choices
Thinking about upgrading these old Flo Fit seats that have been in the car since I got it, a few years ago. Last year I replaced the carpet and freshened up the interior a bit. Now it's time to do something with these old seats. Here they are as they sit now. Not much actually wrong with them other than some wear mark and faded areas. Not to mention the brown fabric no longer matches the interior.
![]() Not sure what I want to replace them with just yet. 72 targa nothing original about the car, PO used it as a track car for a while. Just a fun daily driver, strictly street now. I really like the look of some of the vintage new seats, probably with a basket weave. I also like the look of the Recaro Speed., and the Sparco Torino. I guess I need to sit in a few but that's tough to do given my local and what's available. Any opinions or pics? |

If it were me, I'd have those seats recovered to match my interior. I bought a set like that with cord centers and vinyl bolseters this year and i will never change seats again. This is the 3rd pair of seats i have had in my car (including a pair from GTS Classics) and these are by far the best mix of support and daily driver comfort.

Good to know, I have been contemplating either of these from GTS... They sure look good, I have been drooling over these for a while...

I had the second one, the "Nurbergring". It is a top quality comfortable seat, but has no lateral support. The look is deceiving.

I am going to be working on a job in Detroit, Livonia to be exact, the week after next, I might stop by "On Track Performance" which should be just a few miles away. I might get to try out the Recaros and Sparcos. Does anyone have experience with them? Also checked on recovering the Flo Fits and the good local shop wants $700 to cover in Vinyl or Cloth and $1000 for Leather. I think new Flo Fits fro Seat Source are only $350 each, they just aren't very comfortable to me.

Hey rphillips, just a heads up...I've talked with Stephan at GTS a few times this year and he has informed me that he won't have any seats available until May (at the earliest). The GTS seats are top quality.
PS: I have an excellent complete set of Nurburgrings with tilt mechanism for sale (haven't listed them yet, but will this weekend). PM me if interested.

I have Recaro SPGs in my '73...sees almost exclusive track work; not recommended for daily driving. Also had Recaro SRDs in my RSA. Great seats, very comfortable, fair lateral support, but not vintage looking.
