SC factory alarm system
 

:mad: Does anyone have experience with the factory installed alarm system on a 911 SC the "key" type ??

The problem is that it will not disconnect, even when it has not been connected .. the problem has occured several times .

It just starts up and the ignition seems to be cut after approx. one second..

Any good advice ??

The older systems can and will act up.
I disabled my old Clifford alarm by disconnecting its function from the starter and pump.
Now it has no effect on the engine but still has the blinking light so it looks like there is an alarm.
To disable the car, I set the blinking alarm light and remove the pump relay.

I'm not sure if this helps, but on my Carrera, the alarm can be activated either by turning the key clockwise until it clicks, then back 90 degrees to pull the key out, or by turning clockwise and pulling the key out.
It took me awhile to figure out how to arm and disarm the thing. Apparently it works both ways.

When the alarm horn was going off in a parking garage for a couple minutes, I noticed it was attracting zero attention...

If the factory alarm unit goes out due to high Voltage spikes from the alternator ... one of the consequences is exactly the behavior you describe.

All the other times this happened, the engine starts up in one Seecond or so.. but this time it is acting a bit different. I think the first 5 to 10 times i tried to start it just started up and the ignition was cut. I tried then to connect and disconnect the alarm Seeveral times to See if this would help, but now the engine would not strat at all! and after 5 hours still no reaction..

The system normally works the way, that you stick in the key and turn it 90 deg. clockwise and pull it out - close the door. The system is armed now. when you open the door, and you want to disconnect, you need to stick in and turn your key before the door leaves the door switch.

As the engine does not start at all now, could the fuel pump have been blocked to..? i have heard that this alarm is 3- point system

I just realized that the fuse to the red fuel pump relay was totally white of corrosion! After cleaning the fuse, the engine started and run without no problem.:)

But Thank you guys for all your help and very usefully info. about the alarm system, sure i will get use of that another time.

Other electrical stuff could be corroded too.
Check all fuses and connections, clean them and use dielectric grease on all contacts especially the 14-pin connector, the CDI module pins, the 6-pin CIS plug and any other contacts you can find.

Electrical problems can be very frustrating; preventive maintenance is the answer. Check, clean and grease all ground straps especially the negative battery cable where it connects to the body.

I agree, all that electronics can be frustrating, and i happen always on a very bad monent!! so i will go trough everything visible now! there are a few other fuses that not look to good..

Is this the same system as on an '88 Carrera?

I noted the warning? horns in the area of my new battery. I wasnt given
a key for the alarm and the PO claims he never had one. Any thoughts or suggestions based on the limited information I have provided?

You can have a key made by a local specialist in key's an lock's
I did that of same reason. Just give them the lock.
