Describe to me what a clutch disc in need of replacement feels like on a G50?

Describe to me what a clutch disc in need of replacement feels like on a G50?

Does not slip but it does not feel like I'm getting all the power I use to. I have 75K on the car now.
A small amount of chatter in first gear if I do not give enough gas. feels like an inch in the peddle for engagement.

I had a rubber centered clutch that went on my '88 but the best I remember there were not a lot of symptoms other than engagement was not smooth. That may be the chatter you refer to.

If you say it is not slipping then the clutch disc is doing it's job, maybe the center is deteriorating.

Time to begin preparation of the speech to the significant other "Why I will be spending more time and money on by beloved 911..."
Good luck -

I doubt if your G50 disk has a rubber center. When rubber centers screw up, they come apart and, basically, prevent the clutch from working. The clutch pedal no longer disengages the transmission from the engine.

Take a drive. Get up to highway speed in fifth gear. Leaving your foot on the gas pedal like normal, tap the clutch pedal. Engine rpm will increase of course with the clutch pedal pushed, but when it is released engine speed should return to normal fairly quickly. One or two seconds. If engine speed takes more time to return to normal, your clutch disk may be getting thin.

Just to confirm - my stock '88 did have a rubber center disc, so I am sure others did as well.
Upon disassembly about 1/3 of the rubber was in the bottom of the housing, but it definately still worked.
Good luck -

At 75K miles, you are probably still on the original clutch, in which case it would definately be a rubber center disc, just like in Thomas' picture. That's what they came with from the factory.

At 75,000, you are in the range where the majority of clutch discs on 911s start getting thin (of course, that's a big generality, a clutch disc could last 50 miles or 500,000 miles, depending on how it's used. But on a 911 under normal use, 75K is around average or a bit above).
