FUME/FUEL Smell sometimes
When my tank is full I never smell it. but when it get real low1/4 tank or less I can smell a strong fuel odor.
I have checked every inch of the engine bay and every square inch of the car and there is NO raw fuel anywhere. Or moisture NADA. My fuel lines had been changed a year ago they are like new. Im thinking I have a cracked or unattached fuel vent hose...........anybody care to give advice? |

I bet your vapor hoses are hard and discolored (and cracked). Check & replace. Search for threads on this. Be sure to use only hoses rated for fuel vapor - not PVC.

I have a similar issue with my SC. After it's been driven, it smells very strongly of gasoline inside the car. To the best of my knowledge, it does not have any leaks that I can see. I have not checked to see how much fuel is in the tank when I smell this, but my entire garage smells fairly strongly of gas even when the car's not been driven, started or moved for a few weeks...

Go to a big industrial hose shop and tell them you want hose rated for gas vapor handling.
DO a search - I'm sure somebody posted the exact spec for the hose on an earlier thread. Pgirl - same for you. Talk to your dad first before you make changes to 'his' car. There are 2 safety issues here: 1 - gas fumes - if they reach the right concentration in the trunk, or your garage, can burn or explode. 2 - gas contains benzene which is quite toxic.
