Check out what I did to my front bumper trim.
 

I've never really cared for the "T" trim. Been keeping my eyes peeled for "S" but it's kind of hard to come by and it's $$$. I was in an auto paint store the other day for some misc hardware and the pin stripe rack caught my attention. I went with 1 inch black pin stripe for 50 cents a foot. Bought 10 feet and last night pulled the bumper, removed the trim, cleaned residual goop off with "Goo-b-gone", then applied the trim.
I think it turned out pretty good. I just eye-balled the application.

looks good its alot cleaner looking. how did it look with nothing? of corse then youd have holes there

FWIW, I like the look of the "T" trim, looks lighter then the larger "S" trim.

I'm not normally a fan of chrome or shiny bits, and I'm a huge fan of the minimalist style 911s. I think I prefer the original trim or even just no trim at all. I suppose with no trim at all it would have been obvious that something had been removed.

Very cool! That will look a lot more menacing in people's rear view mirrors right before you pass them. Do you have a more distant shot? Did you do the rear?

Hey Don - that looks really nice. Do the holes show thru the tape at all if the light hits it just right or no?

I found this stuff at the auto supply, think it was called wheel opening trim. self adhesive chromed plastic half-round. I never liked the factory bumper trim, too 'heavy'. this is what I did. I agree, now the reflectors look out of place. Remove then and keep going with your pin-stripping and it will look smooth and clean...

Anyone know the part number of (or where I can get) the rubber trim that sits on top of the rear bumpers just between the bumpers and the body?

Now the value of your car is some $ less than before..

The tape looks clean. Just wondering how it will hold up in the elements. Will it turn into a seasonal reapplication?

Hey Curt! Sorry I missed this. If you look closely you can see it easily. From a distance its no big deal. Either way I don't mind.



It's not tape but actually pinstriping. As far as "holding up" its no different than the pinstriping you see on cars. It'll hold up just fine. Besides, most of the early cars you see here are rarely driven in harsh weather. Mine may see some light rain but that's about it.

Thanks Don - can you post an overall shot of your car? I'm interested to see how the tape bumper stripes look with the chrome rocker trim (or did you delete the rocker trim also?).
