Oil Pressure switch and oil thermostat ?
I am going to change my clutch next week, and while the engine is out I am changing the oil cooler seals, oil pressure switch, and thermostat seals.
I have not been able to find the seal for the pressure swith,is it a O-ring or a seal? All the parts houses below do not have it. I ordered the O-ring for the thermostat is there a gasket also that has to be changed? Superman recommended that I use Dow Corning 111 on the o-ring and seals but I can not find the stuff anywhere including Pelican, automotion, tweeks, vertex, any ideas? Thanks in advance. You're gonna hafta visit your local airport, or industrial area. One poster said every self-respecting aviation repair or maintenance shop will have Dow Corning 111, and I believe that.
I got mine at a local industrial supply place that makes hydraulic fittings. This stuff is really the cat's meow, so I hope you will be able to find it. It's in a green tube, like a toothpaste tube. I'm about to replace my thermostat o-ring and I don't believe there is any gasket, other than this. I don't recall about the oil pressure switch. I replaced the hole thing. I am sure it is not an o-ring. And if your oil pressure switch is leaking, it is probably not from a bad seal. Oil is more likely getting up through the body of the switch, coming out at the top near the spade connector. This is why I just replaced the switch. Been meaning to ask about the clutch project. From looking at the switch your right its only a screw in type with no seal. I will give you a update when the job is complete. |
