92 911s

Could use some advice..
While at a freinds shop today, I spied a 72 911S that is potentially for sale. Pending the outcome of an inspection, I am considering an offer. The paint is a little neglected, but may in-fact rub out ok. It has carrera steel flares installed, original motor, and 115K miles. The interior is in good shape, not tears, the carpet is good (not exc, but good). factory air, and a turbo tail (looks like factory tail and decklid from later 930). the only flaws I could fins in a quick 10 min were the front valence was a little bent, and the flares were not installed perfectly.

Anyone have an idea ov value?? both market, and what I could reasonably offer??

Sounds like an easy restoration candidate. If the chassis is not rusty you could bring that back to factory spec pretty easily. I would think anywhere from $10K to $12K would be the range that it would sell for if it's a real 'S' with matching numbers.

Check for rust in the front pan,
battery boxes and rear torsion tubes.
Is it still MFI? If it is not..,
where did the MFI go? I would like
to buy those parts(just joking).
Sounds like the owner wanted more
tire in the back. What are the wheel
sizes and are they really Fuchs?
Post the VIN and several of us
can check to see if it a real S
or a poser T.
Real Ss, that are original command
some serious money. Eye of beholder/
buyer stuff.

Good luck.

Will check the pan upon full inspection. Didn't see rust in the battery areas. Wheels are Fuchs 15x??. The MFI is there incl a recently rebuilt pump. I will get the VIN #'s and post tomorrow. thanks for the offer of help

Scott,

The 'stock' Fuchs were 15 x 6s, of the late, tubeless, non-deep-spoke variety!

Well, I checked the Chassis. It is an S car. didn't have a chance to check the motor yet.

Y'all help me through this.. it would be a pelican parts board "family purchase"..

Also checked the battery box area.. NO RUST!! The paint has however been changed from silver to red (crapper).
