914 to Boxter Kit?

Gents,
I have heard rumors (and I know that rumors can be danger!) that there is a kit that puts a Boxter body on a 914 with 911 engine!(also can swap in a small block 350) Am I the only one who's heard this nonsense? I can't imagine somebody taking an already low valued 914, sinking buckets of cha-ching into it only to have it worth less. (not to mention not looking like a true Boxter)
Food for thought I guess.

One of the problems with being a 914phile is that there aren't too many that haven't been dinked with in the worst way...people trying to make their 914s into 911 lookalikes!
Hey, 914s are German MGs..that's their spot, and I love em for it.
Unfortunately, the lack of galvanization is their downfall.

yeah, rust is the enemy. I was seriously looking for a 914 for my son. Every one I came up with was a rust bucket. Found the 944 during this quest. No rust and many more creature comforts to boot! Plus was a great father and son project doing the top end job.

At least the 914s were painted everywhere! Some 60's Italian cars like Lambo's Miura had bare steel chassis parts!!! And, consequently became know as the 'Flexible Fliers' ... not terribly confidence ispiring of 173 mph supercars, YA THINK?? Corrosion was said to start before they left the factory parking lot!!!

Warren, you really DO know too much. They have ESPN trivia, regular (I-Have-A-degree in-liberal-arts-and-trivia-is-all-I-know) jeopardy, and even some kind of Rock jeopardy on VH1.
They need an auto trivia game show called "Non-trivial Trivia likely to save your ass someday." Send Warren to THAT trivia game show. I'll get him on there for a mere 10% cut.

I have seen the 914 to boxter conversion. It looks worse than the 9014 that AA offers (if that is possable). Also, chopping a major body component (roll bar) from a car that alrady has a chance at being a little week in the mid section isn't the best idea. The mail components on the kit are front and rear bumper covers. I'm not even sure if they replaced the pop-ups. Good luck in what ever you choose.
