Vacuum leak where does this go to??
I am doing timing, and realizing that there is other things to fix first. I have two pics that show area that need repair. Also if any ony has an easy to read diagram for my 76 911s motor.
Thank you Nathan ![]() ![]()

Nathan,
I'm not sure which problem you are pointing to with the first picture. The vacuum line is missing from you distributor, and the air pump is missing, with an empty fitting on the engine tin. The vacuum advance from the distributor should go to the throttle body. You can live without this - it only improves your gas mileage at cruise by advancing the timing. The second picture shows a fitting on the drivers side of the air box. This should be connected to a oil vapor canister on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the oil tank.

Ahhh yes, I got it on the second pic. Thanks.
On the first, tha absence of the hose is what I mean. I need to try to see where it goes on the throttle body. Thanks again Nathan

Nathan,
Your 2nd picture shows a hose going to the throttle body. This is supposed to go to the distributor vacuum advance. I don't know how to put an arrow into the pictures, or I'd point it out. It is the only hose in the picture that goes to the throttle body.

Nathan,
My canister has one large hose coming out the rear that connects to the green engine shroud on the drivers side. The front of the canister (front is toward the front of the car) has two hoses - a small and large hose. The front large hose is the one that connects to the air box also on the drivers side (the one in your picture).
