fast idle

when I first start my sc the idle is low almost seems like its going to die, but it does not. I drive it and it eventually warms up.

then it stays at a high idle (2000-2500).

If I shut it off for a few minutes than start it again, it idles normally.

advance weights stuck in the dist. Usually happens when the ancillaries heat up and expand. Time to take apart and clean up... Use search.

Of course there are about A MILLION OTHER OPTIONS... usually the CIS gets misblamed.

good luck

"advance weights stuck in the dist"

If that's the case, would you be able to "see" this problem with a timing light?

I have the same problem, if less drastic. (idles great until HOT, then about 1500-1600 rpm.)
