Donuts for a SWB (not the fattening kind)

I've seached the archive on this and no one has given the "definitive" answer. I've just purchased some flat 15x6s and am about to buy the tires. What is your recommend size for this application? I'm not rolling the fenders but then again I'm not going concours either. Options I'm considering are:
185/65
185/60
195/60
205/55
205/50
*Jacking the torsion bars up and putting 35x15.50s all around.

Anyway- please help. I'd ideally like to put as much contact rubber on the road as possible since I'm upgrading the HP to 180. Front and rears can be staggered sized but again; the rim size is 15x6 w/standard offset.
I look forward to the responses
JC

I run 205/60 on my deep 6s. The shoulders are a bit rounded.
People like the look of the 195/65s which fills out the wheels wells nicely and maintains the "period" look. I will be running 195/65s and 215/60s when I get my deeps 6s and Weidman 7Rs back.

205-50 should clear all around with no mods.
speedo will be off quite a bit.
bettter check the availability of that size in the 15 inch and be sure the tire has a suitable rating for the P-car.
Performance 15's are getting hard to come by.

I think all those choices are too low a profile. 15 inch rims with those profile's look funny to me. I bought my car and it had 195/60's, couldn't get those off fast enough. Unless your car is a slammed to the ground vintage racer, go 195/65 or 205/60. That's just me though.

The Yoko AVS ES-100 (195/60/15) would be a good choice, not much available in performance tires in 60 series profile. 185's are to skinny and the 50 series profile will probably mess up your speedo. Use a tire calculator to compare diameter with your current set up.

Bob,

Will that setup clear in the rear without mods?

I am running Michelin Pilot XGT Z4's on my Fuchs 15*6. I have a 1970 911T, lowered stock suspension.

Front = 205/60
Rear = 215/60

No modifications. Handles great, looks cool in my opinion. Can't rotate the tires, but I only put about 2,000 miles a year on the car so not a big consideration.

Not sure if they have the same tire in the US, but if you go on the Michelin website, you can see the tire choices.

My SWB has LWB flares on all 4 corners. According to Havey's measurements it is wider than a LWB by about .5". I am currently running 205/60s on deep 6s with 1" spacers. Clearance is not an issue.
