car stopped . . . when will fuel pump deliver fuel?
I think I am not getting fuel. If I disconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter and turn the ignition switch on, shold fuel pump out of the line? I just replaced the fuel pumpo two months ago so this is strange. Is there a way to by-pass the fuel pump relay to check if the relay is bad? Thanks

Paul,
You should be able to make a jumper from a 5-6" piece of solid 12 ga wire to go from terminal 30 to terminal 87a of the relay socket. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Thanks Warren. I did the jump cable but no luck. I also removed the shield panel, exposing the fuel pump and there is no humming or buzzing or any vibration whatsoever from the fuel pump when the ignition is on or with the jup cable. So I guess the fuel pump is the culprit. Any ideas on why I would go through 2 fuel pumps in a 3 month period?

Paul,
You might want to check and see if you are getting voltage at the terminals that connect to the fuel pump. You might alson want to check to see if you have a good ground. Either one of these may be the source of your problem. Steve |

Correction: the jumper should be from Terminal 30 to Terminal 87 of the relay socket!!!
The 87a is a BREAK contact. The 87 is a MAKE contact. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
