anyone know Dieter's Porsche in San Diego?

Anyone have any experiences with the service guys at Dieter's Porsche in San Diego? I know that Black Forest has a good rep.

He's a local PCA racer in DE and Autocross...consistent TTOD. With a fast car, one would think he's a fair wrench....

Thumbs up

He's got a good rep around town. Alot of cars for sale in the classifieds state they're Dieters' maintained. And he IS a hot shoe.
I have been using Extreme Motorsports...Don is real good, he's done race prep for speedvision series. Either way, you'll do fine.

Both Dieter's and Black Forest are excellent shops - both worked on my cars over the years when I lived in SD. Steve Grosskemper, now lead wrench at Dieter's, really knows both old air cooled cars and 1980s waterpumpers, but doesn't suffer fools gladly. John R., owner of Black Forest, and his chief wrench Mark Kinninger are great guys with a slightly more laid-back style, but I'm not sure if they have a dyno like Dieter's.
Both shops will usually talk you out of spending money on unneeded maint. or "upgrades" that aren't cost effective, but are more than happy to take your money if you insist.
Or, if you live in North County, consider Joe Vampola at European Motorsports in Vista. Good guy, good shop, and prices that are a little less "Downtown."

I'll vouch for Joe Vampola. He's a great guy, drives the hell out of his 912, and gave me great advice while my 912 was being restored, even though he didn't do any of the work.
