a wheel problem

Last night driving home I smacked a pothole with my back wheel. It immediately went flat. Turns out a broke my wheel. I was running a turbo twist style 17 X 8 1/2 " on the rear. Trying to see if the wheel is repairable, but I may need to get some new wheels. I won't pay the dealer the kind of money they want for that wheel so aftermarket is my only option. Any ideas what brands make 17" wheels that will fit my 82 911 SC. Any help would be appreciated. Photos help too.
Thanks,

Jason,

Too bad about the wheel.

Why not post a WTB ad on the classified board?

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your wheel. You may want to post a Want to Buy ad on the classified section of this board. Somebody probably has a good one for sale.

May sound like a simple question, but why not have your insurance take care of it? Wouldn't that fall under comprehensive? Just curious.

Good question, my deductable for comprehensive is 250 and the wheel fix is only 200, plus if the tire is shot, it falls under a road hazard warranty so that will be covered. Less expensive just to pay for it.

I don't know about Canada, but some cities will pay for repair if damage is caused by inadequate roads such as potholes. A city allows itself a couple days after a rain storm to repair damages to roads. So if the damage to your car occurs less than a couple days after a storm not much you can do. Might be more trouble than its worth though.

Sorry to hear about the damage. I broke a front 17" Turbo Twist a month or so ago( went off road at about 40+mph) The wheel / tire was the the cheapest fix of the incident, damn black ice. Bought a single wheel off of E bay from Detroit Wheel. No affiliation but wheel was like brand new and would recommend if there is any doubt about fixing the one you have.

actually it would fall under collision damage coverage....not comp...comp is very specific as to what it will cover....collision is a more broad coverage.
