Question Rear deck adjustment

My rear deck lid does not close tight enough. In other words needs to be closer to the body. Any way to adjust this?

Thanks!

Rod

Not sure if your using fiberglass or stock, but my fiberglass was sticking up on the side of the shock/strut,so i removedthe shock and it closes fine.If not that mayby the striker/latch is off line and needs a adjustment.

Screw it in more and retighten the lock nut on the back. Should do what you want. Make sure the bumpers on either side of the lid are not out too far also. They can be screwed in also. There is a balance between screwing it in further and keeping the lid from popping open, but doesn't sound like you are there yet.

Ok, so do I need to loosen the lock nut first?

Thanks!

The rear deck has 4 separate adjustments.

The panel gap that is used to centre the lid in the body cavity, left to right, forward and backward, is managed by the hex bolts to the hinges.

The alignment of the catch shaft and the striker plate, is adjusted left, right, forward and backward by the 10M bolts on each.

The height of the lid, relatively to the body is set by adjusting the rubber screw-in stoppers and the catch and release point of the latch is set by loosening the lock nut and screwing the shaft up or down.

Using this order allow you almost infinite adjustments.
Bit fiddly, but it all works.
Good luck
Jeff

Be very careful adjusting the latch. Do just a half turn at a time. If you go to far you can get the latch stuck and not be able to open the engine lid!

Where is the lock nut? I do not see that. I was able to adjust it where I wanted it, but I want to make sure the adjustment stays....

Thanks!

Rod

Got a pic?!
