I was taking the rods off tonight when I saw this (fourth journal down) the scratch isnt that deep but is definately a scratch. Any ideas on if I can fix this or do I have to get another one?

If I am looking at the Picture correctly, that is very ugly. It most likely can be saved. There are machine shops that specialize in grinding cranks. They grind them and then re-size the bearings. There was one in Atlanta years ago called the crankshaft exchange. Anyway, my opinion is you need to replace this crank or get it professionally ground and polished. Do not re-assemble with this the way it is.

I may be completely wrong on this, and I hope somebody will correct me if I am....
I had heard that Porsche cranks had very shallow hardening of the bearing journals, and that the Porsche crank should never be ground unless the shop can also re-heat treat. Is this true??
