Can powdercoat be painted?
The title kind of says it all - can a powder coated part be painted over (with rattle can primer and paint)?
Is there a special primer? |

Yes, I was told it can be painted. I had a chrome 914 bumper that I had blasted and powder coated. The powder coated surface was scuffed up and painted. Sorry but I don't know if any special primer was used.

You can treat powder coating just like any other paint surface. There is no special primer and you must give the surface a good cleaning and scuff for maximum adhesion (both matte or gloss).

I would lightly sand the surface so that the paint will adhere really good.
