how can I post a picture on here?

I have pictures of my car on a file in my computer and want to put them in the gallery and also on the pelican classifieds. I need specific instructions. Thanks.

If you want to post the pictures to the board, you first need to post them on the web someplace, and link to them. www.photopoint.com is a good place, they are free, and fairly easy to work with.

You then need to use the UBB code to insert the image to your post. Instructions on how to use UBB code is here:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/ubbcode.html

You can also use HTML, if you know how, but UBB is easier.

Hope this helps.

either something is wrong with this sight or something is wrong with me-I have the pics on photo point and then tried to post her by typing[img]plus the url plus [/img] and it obviously doesn't work.

On photopoint, when you view your picture there is a part at the bottom that says something like "to use this image in your auction, use this link"

It should look like this, but substitute the "()" for "[]"

I must be a complete reject! I'll try again tommorow before I break something.

I think you got everything right, except you used a parenthesis instead of brackets around the IMG

It should be this [IMG] not this (IMG)

good luck

R22tech -- that URL in your last post is for a full web page w/ thumbnails etc. For the IMG tag you need the URL of one particular pic. This should work:

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...57&Sequence=28

R22tech 01-17-2001 07:40 PM

http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...ce=28&res=high

I got it now. Thanks for your patience. Sorry about all the repeat pics of my car. I never would have figured out how to do that on my own.

Yeah, I wish I could live there! It could be mine for about 2.5 mil. Makes a nice backdrop though. Hey, if my stocks keep going up like they have-might not be too far off. I'm up 133% since Jan.1! That's after taking it on the chin last year. Lost more than half in the techs.
