Fuel Pump wont work DME
OK Guys,
I give up, I've replaced the fuse, the front compartment relay and the dme relay but the still won't turn (last two just received yesterday from Pelican !). How do I test the pump itself? FYI, this is on my 78 that has a 86 3,2 transplant. TIA, Juan

Do you have a Bentley? 201-10
Make a long jumper wire with a SPST switch in the middle & a fuse. Remove DME & one end of jumper goes to DME socket 30 & the other to socket 87b. Make the jumper long enough so you can lay under the car & hear the pump come on or not. Ignition does not have to be on. Ian

I had a similar problem before which "necesitated" the replacement of the DME unit.
Now the car has been sitting for some time and I'm thinking if humidity perhaps affected the contacts or the winding of the pump. I originally thought of gumming up of the pump due to old fuel but since it never ran when I tried to start it....... (not sure about your pump but mine you could hear when you put the switch on the "on" position - perhaps a sign of inminent failure). Thanks again Ian, your help is most appreciated !
