A/C compressor types (pics)

I hate to say it, but I'm a little confused.
I have looked at pics of 2 different 1983 911sc cars today, and they have 2 different AC compressors. Here are the pics.

So... what are the two types I see here, and which is better?

York (black one) and probably a Sanden (sliver one). Sanden is better (lighter, smaller and less vibration)

York is a piston type boat anchor. Sanden is a wobble plate which is much smoother during operation and smaller in size. I have a Sanden on my 83 and barely know when it's on, when switched on the rpm's drop maybe by 25 or so.

Cash, FWIW, the newer compressors are better no doubt, however if you have a York (boat anchor), it will work even with 134. My '79 SC is proof of that.
