old_skul: check out www.cafepress.com!

CafePress is a site that lets you design and sell your own T-shirt designs. Great for small clubs or groups. You can sell your designs at cost ($10.99) or make a small profit to raise money. How about a "Porsche Owner's Gallery" T-shirt?

You can also open a store, make one shirt, and shut it down immediately afterward. Jack, want a T-shirt with Black Beauty on it?

Hmm, this is pretty cool. I actually am active in online gaming LANs and I run events with my brother yearly. We made a run of 100 shirts last time at a cost of nearly $720. That wasn't too bad, but it would have been nice to have only bought 50 (since we only sold 50).

Not sure I want to mess with selling something with Porsche's name on it, either - they're know to aggressively pursue litigation with people who commercially profit from the name. Just ask www.porsches.com - they're goners.

there are a few fine line ways around things in which Porsche will turn their shoulder:

"Porsche Owner's Gallery"... NO!
"The Gallery"... YES!
"The 9's Gallery" (911, 914, 924, 944, 964, 993, 986, 996 etc...) YES!

you just have to be creative with the name. nobody can hold a copyright on a number. if you try to associate that number with a product and put it in a "questionable" light; have your lawyers standing by the phone.

something simpler... pins. i have a bunch of 924 pins that i bought over the years. not sure if any are "official" porsche or not. i also just picked up a pin made in Germany that says "Scirocco 16V". note the elimination of "VW Scirocco 16V".

think about it http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif i'm sure there is a way around it.

Wow, Obin, this is completely OT but you just reminded me of a great pizza place/bar/club called "The Nines" near where I went to school. Total flashback...

I gotta get outta here and go for a drive...

How's the snow this year? I remember people cross-country skiing to class most winters.

If you could narrow it down to one single reason I moved to Phoenix, it would be because I would arrive at class with icicles in my beard...

I, too, was a frequent visitor to "The Nines", from '88-'91! Great pizza, cheap beer, neat history and surprisingly good local bands, as I recall. It was one of my favorites of the many bars in the area, plus it was only 50 yards from my apartment. Brings back a lot of great memories from a far more carefree era for me . . .

heh heh, if you want, the next time i go by there i will take some pics. i was JUST by there today for lunch.

snow this year? baah? "snow" to me means you just have to hit the apex a little tighter and keep pressure on the gas pedal. i've seen worse. i have video of our Nissan with 2 feet on the ROOF of the car. this year is "annoying" snow. just enough to bother you, not enough to make travel difficult.

Brian,
nice to see you back on the board after a long absense(or have I missed an earlier comeback?). Still looking for a good work car...maybe another Porsche? I've given up(my parents are making me, rather) my project and will soon be stripping it for parts. Hopefully I can get some money back.

Mark,
Hey I remember www.porsches.com . It was run by this student in Missouri or something and he had like a '86 944 Turbo. Surely one website that I ALWAYS went to for info on Porsches, too bad it had to be shut down! It was non-profit, wonder why they had it shut down?
