So there is Restoration Design, Stoddards, and?

There were two other companies besides restoration design and stoddards selling early porsche chassis metal and sheet metal. Who are they again?

Do I remember seeing some "new production" sheet metal in a tweaks catalog? Can you not source it from Our Host? I'm sure he will have a source!

HIJACK: I have some SC/Carrera flares I'll be selling if anybody is interested. They're from Restoration Design...so high quality metal.

Dansk is one of the them and Mittelmotor being the other who you are probably thinking of. I don't think Mittelmotor actaully makes parts, but their website would lead one to think so. Maybe they do-- http://www.mittelmotor.de/

Well, Wayne has been on and off being able to get parts reliably. Apparently, RD did not treat Pelican Parts any better than the rest of us. I thought he mentioned Dansk as a possibility, but last I checked, the sheet metal items were listed as NLA in the catalog.

I shouldn't speak for Wayne and I'm not trying to. I just know he is frustrated by the whole thing.

I called Pelican. They told me to call Restoration Design. I just wanted to know if there are others I could look into. Is there a Dansk retailer?

We sell 100% of the Dansk line, if it's available from Dansk, it should be listed in our catalog.

Yes, Restoration Design was impossible to deal with, and they would never call me back (me, personally, when I called and told them that if I didn't get a call back, we would not be selling their stuff anymore). No call back. I need to be able to service my customers reliably, so when I can't get a callback and/or product never shows up - that's unacceptable. I would love to carry the stuff, but apparently the owners of Restoration Design feel differently about their customers than we do.

As of this moment, the catalog shows all sheet metal "unavailable." Can we order anyway?

Thanks I will call him. Isn't there something like german specialties or something? I have been looking for that number but can't find it. Or is there a dansk catalog for what they make for the 901 chassis so I can order from Pelican?

I don't know what you're looking for, but I just purchased a rear
floor pan from Stoddard for my 70T. Shipped promptly and matched
perfectly. I also bought a suspension bracket from them that wasn't
listed on their website but Maurice tracked down & shipped. Not to rag on RD, but I placed an order via their web site and never got a response. I cancelled the order via FAX.

Yeah, and one doesn't even get a response on that. How do you feel when you give your CC # and then nothing? Especially when you give up and cancel. I can imagine someday we all will get a bill for some part from the distant past.
